Quick Terrain Modeler Editing Tools
Editing Tool
Description
Basic Editing - Cut, Crop
Cut and/or crop the model based on user defined or imported selection areas.
Statistical Editing
Edit models based on statistical parameters or thresholds. Statistics include point Density, number of points, or statistical measures of min, max, mean, deviation, range, slope, and aspect that are performed on Z, Intensity, or alpha values. For example, remove all points with a low Z deviation value.
Spatial Decimation Selectively decimate point cloud models based on selection areas.
AGL Clipping Clip points in a point cloud by height above ground level (AGL). Excellent tool for temporarily removing vegetation, seeing objects under canopy, etc. Point cloud can also be permanently edited and saved after AGL clipping.
DEM Smoothing Tool
The DEM smoothing tool very rapidly replaces features (e.g., structures, spikes, trees, or other unwanted features) with a smooth surface interpolated from the perimeter of the area selected. DEM smoothing takes place in seconds and is immediately visible upon completion.
DEM Flattening Tool
The DEM flattening tool very rapidly replaces features (e.g., structures, spikes, trees, or other unwanted features) with a flat surface at a user defined elevation in the selected area. DEM flattening takes place in seconds and is immediately visible upon completion.
Point Interrogation
Point Interrogation is a tool for querying individual points in a point cloud, determining their validity, and eliminating them one by one if necessary.
Altitude Synchronization
Synchronizes multiple overlapping models in altitude.
Model Merging Tool
Merges pre built models into a single surface model or point cloud. The original models can be of any type - point cloud, surface model, DTED.
Subtract Models This tool allows users to subtract one entire model from another model on an elevation basis, leaving a “difference” model. (Edit Menu)
Shape File Support Import shape files to use as selection areas for editing functions. Save selection areas as shape files for export to GIS.
